HORIZONTAL SCREENS
The most widely used type of screening in greenhouse horticulture
Holland Scherming offers horizontal screening systems in various applications. The type of screen chosen depends on the crop being grown, as well as the other requirements for optimum climate control. Do you want to save energy? Protect your crops from harsh sunlight? Restrict the emission of light? A complete black-out system? The fabric chosen ultimately determines how the horizontal screening system will function. Combinations are, of course, possible. Bespoke screening systems are available for a wide variety of crops:
The single screen system is usually mounted onto the upper support column of the truss.
In a double screen system, the second screen is usually mounted near the lower support column.
The demand for more screening options is increasing, particularly in the floriculture sector. The screen at the centre is mounted in the middle of the truss. In new greenhouses, the builder can provide a profile to make sure it closes as tightly as possible.
In greenhouses that have already been built, it may not be possible to use the lower support column for a second screen due to obstacles caused by various systems. Do you want to save energy and make use of assimilation lighting at the same time? Two screens on a single wire bed may be exactly the solution you’re looking for.
