Screen systems for garden centres
Determining for the atmosphere at garden centres & wholesalers
Holland Scherming is a supplier of screen systems for numerous garden centres in the Netherlands and abroad. Thanks to our vast experience, we can advise you on which systems are suitable for a wide range of greenhouse types. Movable roof roller screens, for example, are mainly used in – or on top of – wide-span greenhouses, while Venlo greenhouses are usually provided with horizontal systems. We supply systems for various types of greenhouses, ranging from Venlo to wide-span greenhouses, and from Venlo-Cabrio to Open-Sky greenhouses. There are even wonderful solutions available for outdoor gardens in the form of Cabrio screens. Additionally, we can offer a black-out tunnel screen system for your Christmas show.
The finishing of a screen system in a garden centre requires an eye for detail. Concealed drive systems, coated flashings in the colour of the structure, or a cover profile that conceals the cover roller if a tubular purlin is used are all possible. These are just a few examples of the care and attention we give to our systems.
Screens in garden centres generally have a decorative function. Screen fabric in exactly the right colour allows you to accentuate your corporate identity and give presentations more charisma. Used this way, a screen can become an intrinsic part of your interior. Of course, you can play about with this by varying the colour of the screen fabric and controlling the ingress of light. Your products will be shown off to their best advantage under a screen. You will soon notice that an atmosphere like this will generate extra turnover.
Not only will you benefit from a screen system in high summer, it can be pleasant to temper the light transmission a bit and create an even more enjoyable atmosphere at other times of the year as well. A black-out tunnel screening system is indispensable for your annual Christmas show, for example. The construction of such a system may be an annually recurring operation of gigantic proportions for a garden centre, but fortunately it only takes the touch of a button to set up your Holland Scherming black-out ‘ceiling’!
A screen system not only has an aesthetic function; it is also beneficial to consumer comfort. The system allows you to regulate the temperature. On warm days, your screen tempers the harsh rays of the sun so that everyone remains comfortable.
An exterior roof roller screen system, i.e. mounted on the greenhouse roof, has proven to be highly effective in terms of temperature control. You can be assured of a uniform climate even in cold weather and on cloudy days. This is pleasant for your customers, who place high demands on their comfort when inside your shop.
And no matter which fabric you choose, you will always save energy! Your plants will also be thankful for your screen system, as direct sunlight on plants can lead to leaf scorch. Moreover, your employees will not need to water the plants as often. A screen system is a big help in this. We also have suitable screen fabrics with an open-weave texture for use in air vents. A screen system simply makes your shop more convivial, regardless of the weather!
The recent years have seen a great deal of innovation in the field of fabrics, particularly when it comes to UV stability and fire safety. There is now a fabric for every imaginable application. Our fabrics are sourced from reputable suppliers who are specialists in their field. For indoors or outside? Fixed or movable? An open-weave texture or something denser? Acrylic or polyester-based? With intense screen properties, or with a higher light permeability factor? In an exuberant colour, or perhaps a bit more subdued? Which aspect is most important: energy saving, sun protection or aesthetics? Our consultants will be happy to help you make the right choice!
With screen installations from Holland Scherming you can be assured of a perfect result, whether indoors or outdoors. Inside, you can combine the sun protection properties with a decorative appearance, while an exterior screening system serves as a canopy for your outdoor department or a roof roller system on the greenhouse roof to control the temperature. Due to their high UV-resistant properties, these exterior screen fabrics are extremely durable. Our climate is becoming more and more erratic. A heavy rain shower or hail can cause a great deal of damage to your flowering outdoor plants. With Holland Scherming Cabrio screens you can prevent this, while your customers continue shopping! Not only that, they make it even more enjoyable for your visitors to shop outside on sunny days. At Holland Scherming, you can be assured of a reliable system, fitted with Cabrio fabric. Do you have an open-sky greenhouse in your garden centre? We will be happy to create a tailor-made solution.
After many years of use, your screen system may be in need of a little overhaul. We can replace fabric and support wires, in which many structural and drive components can simply be reused. Your screen system will truly be as good as new. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss all the available options.
All screen fabrics used in our screen systems are flame retardant and comply with the European and Dutch standards DIN-EN-135011-2, NTA8825-2010 and/or DIN 4102-Part 1. We will provide you with these certificates upon delivery. Our systems comply with the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive. Alternatively, a CE certificate can be issued on request.
Not all visitors enter your garden centre through the front door. Birds, for example, can fly into your shop and feast on the feed bags in your pet department. Apart from not paying at the checkout counter, they pollute and damage your products and packaging. Our sister company Holland Gaas can supply you with harmonica netting for your air vents. Depending on the density of the mesh, insects can also be kept out, in addition to birds. Pollution caused by falling leaves will also be a thing of the past. With no more birds flying through the sensors of your alarm system, harmonica netting is also good for your peace of mind!
